We hear this quite often; and wanted to reiterate our 5 ‘T’
Integrated Pest Management Plan (IPM).
Some of the photos below will show where standing water is according to
our 5 ‘T’ IPM, in addition to some where one wouldn’t think to look.

TIP. Reduce standing water to eliminate mosquito threats. Check children’s sandboxes, wagons or plastic toys; downspouts, plant saucers and dog bowls. Other hot spots: gutters, A/C units and
flat roofs.

Refill Scout’s water bowl daily!  He will appreciate it!!

TOSS. Remove excess grass, leaves, firewood and clippings from yards.

What’s really under there?

TURN. Turn over larger yard items that could hold water like children’s plastic toys.

REMOVE TARPS. If tarps stretched over firewood piles, grills, boats or sports equipment aren’t taut, they’re holding water.

Pull ‘em tight

TREAT.
Utilize a mosquito elimination barrier treatment around the home and yard.
Using a barrier treatment at home reduces the need for using DEET-containing
bug spray on the body. Mosquito Squad’s eliminates up to 90 percent of the
mosquitoes on a property.

Commonly overlooked areas include:

French Drains

Leaky Pool Filters and pumps

Culverts

Yard Equipment

Boat Covers

Intermittent Creeks

Of course, there are areas that a trained eye may spot such as:

Tree Holes

And other places within a tree.

If you don’t think mosquitoes breed in tree holes, when why did they name a mosquito as such?

Introducing, the Eastern Tree Hole Mosquito (Aedes triseriatus)

We here at Mosquito Squad hope this helps with controlling mosquitoes at your home, office, school or church.  Controlling and eliminating standing water is key in any mosquito control IPM.
